Vaccaro (6'0" 214lbs)
4.63 - 40
15 reps - Bench
38" - VJ
121" (10'1") - Broad
6.78 - 3 Cone
4.06 - 20yd Shuttle

Reid (6'1" 213lbs)
4.53 - 40
17 reps - Bench
40.5" - VJ
134" (11'2") - Broad
6.99 - 3 Cone
4.22 - 20yd Shuttle

Johnson (6'0" 212lbs)
4.52 - 40
18 reps - Bench
38" - VJ
121" (10'1") - Broad
6.84 - 3 Cone
4.07 - 20yd Shuttle

Just some comparison by the numbers. Enjoy.

Note to self: using "production" meaning just the box score stats is wrong. Disruption is production.

I'm the biggest "hater" of Trent Murphy, because most of his weaknesses are common traits for successful edge-rushers. He's at best a late 2nd, early 3rd.

O_o

I'm not a big believer in the Combine, but I'd be lying if I said these numbers didn't encourage me about Johnson. Starting to see why Broaddus is so high on him.

Thanks for the stats.

Perk is a sick bastid.

You're welcome. Any team will tell you that the Combine is great for two things, interviews and medical evaluations. The positional drills and workouts are secondary to them. The drills just confirm tape or make scouts go back and see why a prospect didn't perform like expected (either positively or negatively).

Note to self: using "production" meaning just the box score stats is wrong. Disruption is production.

Damn man thanks for this. Definitely awesome to see that Johnson is pretty close in comparison to some of this seasons top Safety prospects

Check out that Bench Press for Johnson's Pro day, dosent even bounce it. The bar barely touches his chest..... just think if he were to bounce he wouldve had at least 20-22

Johnson did have good numbers and great tape, only issue on him was hes from a small school and is having trouble staying healthy. If the kid could get healthy, its quite possible he lights it up for us..

See, this is why I don't see us drafting a safety...did everyone forget about Johnson? He was a 4th! All this talk about a need at S is crazy. 2 OL and a DL in the first 3 rounds.

Johnson and Church are both coming off injuries so you don't know if you're going to get the same player. Not to mention Church is JAG and we have no idea what we have in Johnson I'd say it's a need.

I go back and forth on this. I like Church and Johnson a lot, however both are relatively unknown. However the only Safeties I really like are going to go in the 1st or top of 2nd round. I think OL/DL is a more glaring need right now. FA could change that slightly and then maybe one will drop to us in the 2nd.

Church is our best safety. Better than Sensy...

I'll have to see more than a handful of games to make that call. Even if he is I still see him as a low ceiling guy.

With their injuries we just don't know what we'll have. I'm hoping they both come back better than expected.
If they cut Sensy you can bet we take one very early. Vacaro or Cyprien would be my top choices.
Vacarro would ahve to a be at 18 if he's still there. Cyprein might last until pick 47, but to be safe we may have to move up to the early 2nd to get him. Depends on where he is projected to ge after all the combine #'s are processed. I hope they have a real good idea about the health of Church and Johnson before draft day.

Jesus and I Love the Dallas Cowboys!

It's not about anything you've done, it's about whats been done for you.

cowboysnation had this to say about some of the notable safetys:

11:46 AM - Vaccaro with an excellent back pedal hip flip drill. Smooth hips in transition. Stayed low with nice drive to create burst after the direction change.

FS Matt Elam and SS Keelan Johnson are quietly having a solid Combine. Their 4.54 40 time puts them both just inside the top 5 for the position this year and their skill drills show fluidity, nice hips, ability to stay low and deliver burst. They have increased their value today.

Vaccaro performed the skill drills fast and fluid, faster than his 40 time would indicate.

I really like Vaccaro, but I don't see much "value" at 18 for him. If Sensy is cut, there will be a need. I think Johnson will be given every opportunity to start, just has to stay healthy. I think the first two rounds will be dedicated to OL and DL, then it's wide open (not the way I'd do it necessarily, but it's how I see the Cowboys approaching the draft).

I think from a talent standpoint you are always looking for upgrades regardless of who you have on the roster already.

If he's the highest rated on the board, take him. Have no issue with it in that situation.
