The admins have asked to remove a topic called Old Skool Pics.  Apparently there was an issue where images of a woman were posted in that topic and it was brought to the Cowboys organization, by that particular woman, and requested to be removed.

Although the Fireside Chat is more of a social gathering type of forum, it is still part of the Cowboys message board, and as such, falls under the umbrella of it being family friendly as well.

Because of the legal implications, the admins have requested that you not post any more images of women, or men, dressed in provocative clothing.  After all, this is still a football forum.

Thank you.

Thanks  Quick.

I do agree with whoever made this decision that it's a football forum first and foremost and I do endorse this decision.

Sometimes my kids are sitting by me when I log on to the Cowboys website to check out the news and they've seen a few photos that caused a few questions.... ;)

However, I will confess to a bit of confusion, from this perspective.  If this gal was troubled by a picture of herself in a scantily clad outfit on this website, then why did she pose for the picture in the first place?  Why would she pose for a provocative picture if she didn't want it posted or looked at?

Overall I still think this is a good decision.

And then she posts the pic of herself to the internet, where a quick Google search for "images of women, or men, dressed in provocative clothing" brings the photo up for the entire world to see, free of charge, as long as you click the safe search button off. Amazing how easy it is for Google to block images from some users, while others are able to look at them. Google leads the world in providing a family friendly internet experience.

Just out of curiosity, how many "likes" did her pic get?

It wasn't so much she didn't want others to see it.  It was more that she didn't give permission to anyone to post it on this site.

I agree but I'm a little confused. There are a lot of cheerleader pics that are risqué. I don't post any pics of women but are those pics acceptable to post on a football forum along with cheerleader swimsuit edition pics? They are also a part of the game aren't they?

They should be respectable pics, not demeaning ones...if you want to be a perv then keep it on your own computer, not on this site.  I'm sure this site is probably 90% male (99% of them gawkers), but for those women on site, we must respect them and any young'ens who come here.  This is an open forum and a representation of the Cowboys fans so long as it remains respectful.  At any time I am sure the Cowboys can shut this down if it becomes a vile immoral site.  Thus the need to have mods like QD, KSK and the like to be the father figures we all look up to....

I'm still not following the logic there. If the pic of the cheerleader is risqué or not they do their routines at the games and in front of families

DCC are official employees of the Dallas Cowboys, and the Dallas Cowboys can do what they please with the pictures.

Random scantily-clad women found on the internet are (usually) not employees of the Dallas Cowboys, I'm guessing. And you're probably not a DC employee either, but rather someone who us using their public services and expected to abide by the forum rules in doing so.

Also, I'm sure it depends on how "scantily clad" the female is.

I'm not going to post any pics anyway but we all know and have seen the pics of cheerleaders doing the high kick where some areas are almost revealing if you know what I mean. Those are pics of cheerleaders in live action. They perform that in front of the family audiences. We can post pics of players in live action. Are cheerleaders in live action off limits? Are they not part of the football experience?

Perceptively your correct, but the issue this comes down to is morality and respecting the dignity of women.  Those pics you speak of, you do realize they are wearing full nylons?  The other pics which are posted are lacking such covering.

With cheerleader pics, all we ask is that you use good judgment.  There are acceptable cheerleader pics and there are questionable ones as well.  You should consider, and respect, others on this message board, before you post the image.  After all, there are men, women, and children that frequent this forum and not everyone shares your views.

The Cowboys organization provides a link to the cheerleaders page, so there's no real reason to copy those pictures and post them here.  However, if you feel the need to prove your masculinity by ogling over a bunch of pictures with cheerleaders, do it with respect towards others.

Oh, one more thing.  As you know, in ratio of men to women on this message board, there is probably 90/10 of men to women.  That being said, just because women are the minority in membership doesn't mean they are the ones complaining about scantily clad women being posted for guys who think with their libido.  So if you're going to accuse someone of ratting you out, make sure you have proof before you do it, otherwise it could be considered an attack on that individual, and as you know, attacks are against forum rules.  :)

I hope that clears things up for you.

Alright, I gotta confess. I was the one that complained about the pics. Even though women have been engaging in the oldest trade in the world since humans started crawling the planet by being for sale even when they ain't technically for sale, that many want a double standard by simultaneously using sexuality while crying about equality, and that it is easier to simply look at the babes here with your pals and make comments than go to the Cowboys cheerleaders page, I figured I'd rat.

We gotta clean this place up, boys. Besides, too much flesh is a sin.

This site is far from ever becoming vile and immoral, even with those pics featured in the thread being discussed. Furthermore, I wasn't aware that you were the campaign manager for the aforementioned mods. Such idolatry pales in comparison to that of a 12-year-old girl's crush on Justin Bieber.

Fireside Chat isn't a football forum, but one for those who want to discuss topics 'unrelated to sports', so why did you view a non-football forum for news? If your kids are interested in football news, there is a section(News) for such topics that you and they can view without being "offended", "morally mauled" or having your pristine souls devoured by the onslaught of graphically violent pics and pornography that allegedly mar Fireside Chat

Why wasn't the thread deleted once it was locked? That makes no sense to me. If it is too controversial or "unlawful", thereby resulting in the infamous padlock, why continue to allow it's images to be viewed? In this instance, had it been deleted soon after, the woman who pissed and moaned about her photo being used without permission never would have seen it in the first place.
