Funny you would say that.

2011 NY Giants defense was ranked 27th that year.

Yet they won the SB..

ELI threw for 4900 yards and the most yards in playoffs EVER.

2007 They were ranked 7th..

ELI Did beat ROMO & Farve on the road & Undefeated BRADY

I said 'most'...not 'all'.

2007 Defense played a big part in his SB win, but you cant deny that he elevated his game.

2011 Was ALL ELI

Not so much.

He wasn't on the field alone...was he?

No team is. No matter how much you want to leg hump the wittle baby...

2011 Was ALL ELI

2011 you seem to be forgetting that the Patriots were playing with a clearly hobbled Tom Brady! Anybody watching that game could clearly see Brady was nowhere near 100%. But the Giants still won. And it's a Super Bowl victory all the same!

Now in regards to what Romo said.....I have no problem with it!  First off the animosity toward Teams and players comes mostly from the fans. We create this hatred that most of the time doesn't really exist between teams and players. Rivalry is not hatred. Of course the Cowboys and Giants are rivals. But that doesn't mean the players hate each other. They all have a camaraderie regardless of the rivalry. Of course Romo respects Eli they both know the difficulty of playing the position. I'm sure Eli respects Romo and what he went through also. Romo may not have any Super Bowl wins but his records and style of play cannot be ignored. Unless a player is a complete DBag then they usually respect each other. But they also play to beat each other. That's why no matter how tough the game or who wins or loses they tap each other on the head or shake hands and laugh with each other after the game. Plus now Romo is a commentator, does anybody think Romo would have anything bad to say about any former or current player period? It's not his style he is and was a standup guy! Again not shocked at all by his comment nor am I offended! Not a big deal.......

Here's a quote from an article that just hit. It's in regards to hoping both OBJ and Elliott play the opener. It's from Landon Collins....... "I'm hoping that his appeal goes through," Giants safety Landon Collins said Monday of Elliott, a personal friend. "He's a great player, an exciting player. I love playing against the best players."

So like I said the enemy thing is more made up by the fans. It's not really on the players!

Nonsense. Nothing has ever been all Eli. Even most of the Giants fans I know will admit his receivers make him look better than he is. That said, he's better than some are willing to admit.

4900 yards and 10 4th quarter come back wins is a great year

True. But nobody had more 4th quarter comeback wins than Tony Romo!

Romo was a very good QB who struggled to win the big game..

Hated facing him..

That Manningham pass was was of the prettiest throws I've seen.

Because a ex Cowboy player mentioned it and your team is playing the Giants this week.

Makes for some fun debates.

Lets discuss the luck?

Was him escaping the sack luck or effort?

Was hit threading the needle to Manningham luck or skill?

Eli had a good first half of his career but you have to admit he and the Giants haven't been very good the past 5 or 6 seasons. They missed the playoffs 5 years in a row? I don't know so I'm asking this seriously has any HOF QB missed the playoffs that many years in a row?

Someone actually looked this stat up years ago.
HOF to miss playoffs 4 years in a row..

Surprisingly there were many .. 7/8 I believe

Past 6 years
2011/14/15 Eli had great years..
12/16 were ok
13 was horrible

We shall see what this year brings

And with that statement Tony Romo's transition from player to talking head is complete. Welcome to the dark side Tony where the price of your soul is straight-faced rhetoric:-)

The 2 SBs are huge for Eli but let's say he doesn't win another playoff game, I'm not sure he makes the HOF. I don't think he needs to win another SB but he needs a good finish to his career.

You may have missed a few small facts like.

2x SB winning QB

2x SB MVP

and will likely end in top 5 for Yards, Tds.

200 games started in a row.

That's not what he's best known for. Peyton's little brother and being a TO machine are the 1st things that come to mind, And not in that order.  ^_^

The hardest hitter in football. :)

Darrell Royal

I might say this: we’ve always been a running team and I’m sure we will continue to be so. (We’ve been criticized for it, I might add.) But I’ve always felt that three things can happen to you whenever you throw the football, and two of them are bad. You can catch the ball, you can throw it incomplete, or have it intercepted.

He's ok but he looks dumb doing it. Kinda like Romo. I like a Aikman/Rogers-like QB who looks good and plays good. next...

Last I heard, Eli Manning was not on the Cowboy's roster...nor is Tony Romo. Since this thread has nothing to do with the current Dallas Cowboy's roster, it's coaches or FO...moving this to the Rest of the League.

He isn't on the Dallas Roster. The main forum is reserved for discussions of Dallas Cowboy's players, coaches, and Front Office. That's why there is a completely different page (The Rest of the NFL) reserved for discussions of players from different teams.
